After two years spread across the country, 2025 Canadian mountain bike national championships are, for the most part, landing in B.C. There will be one race in Ontario, and one venue remains undecided at this point. But the rest? They’ve all drifted west.
2025 Canadian XCO and XCC national championships
After a couple of years way out east in Kentville, N.S., cross country championships racing is headed all the way to the opposite side of the country. Langford, just outside Victoria, B.C., will host the XCC and XCO national championships. The events will take place from July 18 to 20, 2025.
The venue is the wildly popular Jordie Lunn Bike Park. Named in honour of the late Canadian freerider and coach, it is now also home to the Wheelhouse Cycling Society and is already a winter training, or training camp area for many cross country athletes.
While relatively new, JLBP already has experience hosting events. B.C. high school races, Island Cup mountain bike races and a few Cross on the Rock cyclocross events have all sprinted around the ever-expanding network of trails, pump tracks and paths. But it will be the first time a national championship is contested on the Langford network.
2025 Canadian downhill national championships
For the gravity crowd, SE Racing is once again hosting downhill national championships. The veteran race organizer behind Dunbar Summer Series is bringing DH nationals to Sun Peaks Resort on Aug. 2-3. That is the same venue that 2024 nationals are headed to in just a few weeks time. Sun Peaks made a spectacular return to race hosting with a Canada Cup round in 2023 and the high-speed, loose trails should crown deserving champions for the next two years.
2025 Canadian XCM national championships
For the endurance racers, cross country marathon championships are about to start a two-year stint in Thunder Bay, Ont. This year’s event is still over a month away, taking over from 2023 XCM nationals in The Yukon. In 2025, XCM champions will be crowned on August 23. Blacksheep Mountain Bike Club is the host for both editions, this year’s and next.
2025 Enduro national championships?
The last mountain bike national championship venue is yet to be announced. After a late venue change in 2024, Cycling Canada has yet to confirm a host for next year’s event. So, if you’re interested…
