Enduro is losing another one of its biggest personalities. Going into the 2026 season, there’s already been big announcements from Jesse Melamed and, then, Jack Moir. Now Ed Masters is also stepping away from racing.
Masters announced that he’s ending eight years with Pivot Factory Racing. And, with that, retiring.
“What a ride it’s been! Holy shit, I’ll never be able to put into words how grateful I am for the opportunities that Pivot Cycles and Bernard Kerr have given me,” Masters said of the teams sponsor and manager.
“But, it’s time for me to hand up the boots.”
Masters has been full time on the enduro and downhill World Cup (and Enduro World Series before that) full time for a staggering 13 years. That’s included numerous podiums on the enduro side and many more memorable moments off the race course. Or beside it. Like his brother, Wyn Masters’ WynTV, Ed has occasionally run Ed Bull Media House, a very DIY race coverage for enduro and other race weekends.
Things like his race coverage and outsized personality, even among his vibrant Pivot Factory teammates, have made Masters a fan favourite for much of his long and storied career.
During that time, Masters says, “My heroes became friends and my friends became heroes. I’m proud of what we achieved. And, to everyone who has been part of the journey, thank you so much. Love you all and see you on the trails.”
