Second member of Cycling Canada board of directors addresses resignation

Pan Am Games Day 2 track recap: Women’s TP golden

On Saturday, Canadian Cycling Magazine broke the news that Becka Borody would be resigning from the board of directors at Cycling Canada. In a statement to Canadian Cycling Magazine, she confirmed that she had stepped down.

“I resigned from the Board of CC recently. There were a lot of ongoing reasons, but the way in which the communication, and then lack of transparency around recent decisions made it clear that my values no longer aligned with leadership of the board and the organization,” she said.

Following the news of the appeal, Mathieu Boucher told the CBC, “At this stage we are not aware of any formal appeal being filed. However, we will respect the appeal process if and when that occurs.”

“I resigned from the Board of Directors of Cycling Canada on May 13, shortly after the announcement of the cancellation of the Women’s Team Pursuit program. While that decision was not the sole reason for my resignation, it became clear to me that my values were no longer aligned with the leadership and direction of both the Board and the Organization.”

“J’ai démissionné du conseil d’administration de Cyclisme Canada le 13 mai, peu après l’annonce de l’annulation du programme de poursuite par équipes féminine. Bien que cette décision n’ait pas été la seule raison de ma démission, il est devenu clair…
