Marianne Vos sapped by leg cramps in Trofeo Binda racing return


Trofeo Alfredo Binda may have been Marianne Vos‘ first road race since September of last year, but the Jumbo-Visma rider was still holding firm in the chasing group of around 20 right through to the final nine kilometres, until cramps brought her almost to a standstill as she dropped away on the final passage of the Orino climb.

The 35-year-old finished her cyclocross season early and skipped her world title defence before mid-February surgery for pelvic artery constriction, which kept her off the bike for 10 days.
