Ian Ackert took the bronze at the 2023 UCI MTB XC championships, capping off an incredible day for Canada’s juniors. Hours earlier on Wednesday, Isabella Holmgren and Marin Lowe went 1-2 in the junior women’s race. Ackert fought hard for the medal, in a last lap duel with Norway’s Sivert Ekroll.

Ackert had an incredible ride at the team relay event on Tuesday. He was the last rider for Team Cabnada, had an incredible duel with elite male rider, Sebastian Fini Carstensen of Denmark, finishing just behind him.
