Brother of Soudal Quick-Step pro impressive at junior hockey worlds

Slovakia had a helluva game at the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships on Monday, narrowly losing to the U.S., but interestingly, there’s a cycling connection. Michal Svrček, a 2025 Red Wings draft pick, has been playing well thus far. He assisted on Tomas Chrenko’s backdoor goal during a power play and took a cheeky goal as well. The boys both were inspired by their love of the game and stylized their kit. “When Phoebe Haymes, head of marketing and communications at Israel – Premier Tech asked me what I wanted my national championships kit to look like, I said I wanted it to have the vibe of the ‘96 Atlanta track kit and have it feel like an old school team Canada hockey jersey,” Woods posted on Instagram. “I couldn’t be happier with the results!” Perry’s jersey for his national gravel champs has the maple leaf in the centre of his jersey. It’s a nod to the logo that Hockey Canada has used on its national team outfits over the years.
