Another piece of the post-YT Mob puzzle is in place: Irish downhill star Oisin O’Callaghan is on bord with the newly re-named Trek-Unbroken factory program. O’Callaghan, and the entire Trek squad, gets a refreshed set of kit to celebrate, too.
O’Callaghan joins Trek-Unbroken
It is not surprising that O’Callaghan has landed on his feet post YT. While the young rider was with YT for quite a while he also has a heck of a race resume. Trek-Unbroken picks up a junior world champion and recent World Cup winner for its roseter in signing the thrilling Irish rider. In Trek’s PR about signing Oisin, the team seems equally excited about getting to hang out with the rider’s new puppy, a speckled dachshund named Alfie. Which is… fair. Those little guys are hecking cute.
This isn’t O’Callaghan’s first time with Trek. He did a brief stint with a Trek team back in 2019. That makes the move easy for both team and rider.
“I just felt like everyone there was a good group of people,” O’Callaghan said. “Everyone was doing their jobs. And obviously the setup was what I was looking for, bike-wise and everything, going back to something that I was familiar with in 2018-2019 when I was on Trek. And to be honest, the minute I hopped on the bike, it felt so comfortable.”
As for goals, O’Callaghan isn’t pulling punches. Podiums are nice, but he wants another win.
“I suppose for next year, obviously, I have some big goals. It’s been two years since I was on the top of the podium, which will be the main goal. So I’d like to win a World Cup again, be on the podium at least once, outside of winning a race. And I’d love to get a World Championship medal as well. With me being fourth in the overall coming into the summer break, I would love to finish top five in the overall, too.”
A foxxy start to 2026
Along with a new team name, Trek-Unbroken also rolls into the new season with a fresh clothing sponsor. After years with 100%, TU moves to Fox Racing kit for the new year. That should give Oisin and the Trek-Unbroken roster access to Fox’s wild Speedsuit. The boundry-pushing outfit tests the limits of UCI compliance with a semi-two-piece and very form-fitting design for maximium aerodynamics. With race times being so tight at World Cups, it seems like a solid deal for Trek.
