Austrian downhill racer Andreas Kolb is joining the YT Mob for the 2025 season. After four successful years with Atherton Racing, Kolb’s move comes as he continues to cement his reputation as one of the top elite men’s racers on the world cup circuit.
A fresh start
Kolb’s journey with Atherton Racing was marked by incredible highs, including back-to-back podiums and a triumphant first world cup win at Leogang. He also claimed Austrian national and European continental titles, along with finishing as sixth overall in the 2024world. Reflecting on his time with the team, Kolb shared:
“What a journey it has been! From barely cracking the top 20 to landing podiums and winning my first world cup—it’s been unforgettable. I’ll never forget the good times we had, like finishing first and second at worlds with Charlie Hatton.”
Bringing firepower to the YT Mob
Kolb joins the YT Mob alongside a star-studded roster that includes reigning world champion Vali Höll, young talent Oisin O’Callaghan and enduro crossover rider Kasper Woolley. With an expanded ten-round World Cup season ahead, Kolb’s wealth of experience and UCI ranking points—over 1,000—are a significant boost to the team.
The YT Mob is setting its sights on not only individual success but also climbing the team rankings. Jan-Philipp Becker, director of global brand marketing at YT Industries, expressed excitement about Kolb’s arrival:
“His personality and professionalism align perfectly with our brand and vision. With Andreas on board, we’re one step closer to becoming one of the top teams on the circuit. Let’s bring it on!”
Kolb’s excitement for the future
“I’m blessed to join the YT Mob,” he said. “It’s a family, the bike is great and the brand ethos is sick. I’m excited for what’s ahead!”
With his powerful riding and proven track record, Kolb is ready to take on the new season with a fresh setup and renewed energy.
