Movistar’s Annemiek van Vleuten took the 2023 Giro d’Italia Donne on Sunday, finishing safely in the bunch in her pink jersey. Chiara Consonni (UAE Team ADQ) took the ninth and final stage from Sassari to Olbia, a 108-km race.
Jumbo Visma’s Marianne Vos took second on the day, with Ally Wollaston (AG Insurance-Soudal Quick-Step) slotting in third.
Van Vleuten dominated the women’s Tour of Italy, taking three stages, as well as the mountains and points competitions. Her Movistar squad also won best team overall.

The sole Canadian left in the race, Magdeleine Vallieres Mill (EF Education-TIBCO-SVB), didn’t finish the final stage, having spent the week working for her American teammate Veronica Ewers who finished fourth overall.
The next Grand Tour for the women’s WorldTour is the Tour de France Femmes, which begins July 23.
