Christophe Laporte (Jumbo-Visma) continued Jumbo-Visma’s domination at the Tour de France, winning stage 19 in Cahors with a late attack on the uphill dash to the line.
Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck) picked up the scraps, winning the sprint over Alberto Dainese (Team DSM) one second behind.
Laporte gave the host country its first stage win, thanks in large part to points classification leader Wout van Aert’s efforts to nail back a late breakaway. Overall leader Jonas Vingegaard finished safely in the peloton to continue in the maillot jaune.
More to come.
