Derek Gee 10th in his first post-Giro d'Italia race

If you were wondering what was next for Canada’s Giro d’Italia sensation Derek Gee, the answer is 10th place in the 103rd Brussels Cycling Classic, a 1.Pro-rated race on Sunday.

Gee came 10th in a reduced bunch sprint won by Arnaud Démare (France/Groupama-FDJ), his second BCC victory.

The Brussels Cycling Classic held 10 climbs better known from the Flanders Classics, including two trips up the Muur and Bosberg.

Unlike at the Giro, Gee wasn’t the only Canadian in the race. Q36.5’s Nick Zukowsky came in 33rd and Charles-Étienne Chrétien of Human Powered Health lined up in Brussels but didn’t finish.
