SCOTT-SRAM MTB Racing Team has officially announced its 2025 lineup, bringing on board two rising stars: Canadian rider Emilly Johnston and US national champion Bjorn Riley. Both riders are transitioning from their successful U23 careers into the elite ranks.
Emilly Johnston
Hailing from Vancouver Island, Emilly Johnston’s name echoed through the U23 circuit last season, solidifying her status as one of the brightest talents in women’s mountain biking. Her victory at the Crans Montana XCC World Cup showcased her grit, power and precision. With an impressive nine world cup podiums and a bronze medal at the U23 world championships, she capped off the year with an outstanding 2nd overall in the U23 series standings.
“I’m beyond excited to be joining my dream team in my first year as an elite. I have such an incredible opportunity to learn from the best riders and staff in the world and I can’t wait to make the most of every moment,”* Johnston said.
Her move to SCOTT-SRAM represents far more than just stepping into elite competition—it’s a chance to grow alongside some of the biggest names in the sport. Known for their history of nurturing talent, SCOTT-SRAM will provide the perfect environment for Emilly to push her boundaries and elevate her already-impressive performance.
“Really it’s a dream come true, this whole year, opportunity, just everything,” she said. “I think joining SCOTT is something I never even really believed would be an option, so to spend my first year as an elite in this team surrounded by the best in the sport is truly mind-blowing for me. There is so much that I can learn from everyone on the team and I’m just beyond excited for everything. I feel there is space for me to learn and grow in so many aspects and I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to learn it alongside the best in the world!”

Over the past few seasons, Johnston has been based in Austria during the racing calendar, where she balanced her love for mountain biking with her passion for the outdoors—particularly fly fishing.
