Emmy Lan wins third Enduro World Cup in four starts

Emmy Lan added to her impressive list of international enduro wins on Thursday, taking the top spot in under-21 women’s Leogang World Cup in Austria. It is the Canadian’s third win in four Enduro World Cups (EDR) this year.

Lan’s win also kicked off a big day for her Forbidden Synthesis enduro squad. Teammate Rhys Verner would earn his first elite EDR win later on Thursday.

Lan led a big day for the Canadian under-21 racers. Lily Boucher and Johnathan Helly both landed podium finishes in the u-21 World Cup.

Lan lands another win

Emmy Lan (Forbidden Synthesis) looked solid all Thursday in Leogang, winning three of six stages on her way to victory. The Comox Valley racer has only finished off of the podium once this season in the Enduro World Cup.

France’s Lily Planquart followed in second. Rocky Mountain Race Face’s new signing, Lily Boucher, added another Canadian podium finish in the u-23, her first of the season. Elly Hoskin placed fifth, putting all three Canadians in the race in the top five spots.

Helly leads Canadian u21 men

On the under-21 men’s side, Johnathan Helly (We Are One) added a third podium for Canada. The B.C. racer was third behind Lisandru Bertini (Lapierre Zipp) of  France and Sascha Kim (Raw Racing).

Wei Tien Ho and Lief Rodgers (Giant Canada Off-Road Team) were just off the podium in fifth and sixth place. Racing in Leogang was incredibly close, with Ho and Rodgers just 7.27 seconds and 12.57 seconds off of Bertini in second place.

Enduro World Cup racing kicked off the first triple-header World Cup ever. With Warner Bros Discovery bringing Enduro under the World Cup banner, more events will see more disciplines raced. Leogang is the first time that  Enduro joins cross country and downhill for one massive weekend of racing.

Here’s how to tune into the rest of this weekend’s World Cup racing in Austria.
