When one door closes, another one opens? Andrea Piccolo appears ready to start a new chapter following the abrupt end of his cycling career: OnlyFans.
In June, EF Pro Cycling announced the immediate termination of its contract with Italian rider Andrea Piccolo. This decision came after the 23-year-old was involved in two substance-related incidents, one legal and one not. In a statement on X, the team confirmed that the contract was terminated effective immediately.
A promising career
Piccolo won the junior time trial gold at the 2019 UEC European Road Championships. He then raced with the Continental team Colpack Ballan before moving up to the pro ranks with Astana–Premier Tech. Although he joined UCI WorldTeam Astana–Premier Tech for the 2021 season, he parted ways with the team in late May without racing for them due to health issues identified during a training camp early in the season.
He had been with Jonathan Vaughters’ team since 2022.
Caught with gear
Piccolo was stopped by authorities upon returning to Italy on suspicion of “transporting growth hormone.” He admitted to transporting four different substances, which he chose not to name, but defended himself by stating he had never tested positive for any banned substances. The Italian National Anti-Doping Tribunal responded with a provisional suspension.
After the termination, EF said in a statement that it will “cooperate fully with any investigation into the matter, and we encourage Andrea to be open and truthful with anti-doping authorities.”
On to OnlyFans
As of September, the retired pro cyclist is making a move to OnlyFans, a platform that often features adult content, though not exclusively. His bio on the platform says, translated from Italian, “Come get to know a part of me that no one else knows.”
While not the first athlete to use OnlyFans, Piccolo may be the first male pro cyclist to do so. (I’m sure someone out there is keeping track, but it ain’t me.)
The 23-year-old will benefit from content creation advice from his partner, popular Colombian influencer Valentina Gomez, who is already active on the platform.
