Gabe Neron and Ainhoa Ijurko set the fastest seeding times as Canada Cup / Dunbar Summer Series racing returned to the iconic Kicking Horse Mountain Resort on Saturday. The two Squamish, B.C. racers tamed new turns at the top of KHMR’s long-serving track as well as the classic corners and slabs down to the resort village finish line.

Saturday’s seeding sets start order for Sunday. It also set the stage for a solid day of downhill racing, with Jack Pelland and Hayden Wynter chasing close behind Neron in the elite men’s racing.

On the junior side, Cory Fitchett and Kiero Melnechuk led seeding while Julian Moutinho just put himself on the top of a tight under-17 men’s field.

While Saturday was only UCI categories, Sunday sees the full roster of amateur, age group and masters racers join the elites on the gondola at Kicking Horse for finals. This is the third stop of the 2023 Dunbar Summer Series, and fourth Canada Cup downhill stop of the season. Dunbar Summer Series returns with a long-awaited return to Sun Peaks Resort outside Kamloops, B.C. next weekend.
