‘I surprised myself’ - Julian Alaphilippe back to winning ways on stage two of Critérium du Dauphiné

Julian Alaphilippe (Soudal Quick-Step) sprinted to his first WorldTour victory in over a year on Monday, claiming stage two of the Critérium du Dauphiné in La Chaise-Dieu. 

The win marked a “promising” return to form for the two-time road world champion, who rounded EF Education-EasyPost’s Richard Carapaz in the finale, and held off the Ecuadorian to the line.
