The winner of Saturday’s San Sebastián Klasikoa will head back home to race for Tudor Pro Cycling in 2025. The team announced the signing of both Hirschi and Fabian Lienhard for next season. Hirschi will leave UAE Team Emirates and ride with former world champion Fabian Cancellara’s squad for the next three years.
For Hirschi, moving to Tudor has special significance. Growing up, he idolized Cancellara and even had him as a mentor during the early steps of his career.
“As a Swiss rider, it feels special to join a Swiss team. I am 25, so it is time for me to endorse the role of a leader and see how far I can go. Tudor Pro Cycling is giving me this opportunity, and I hope to return the trust with some fine victories,” he said.
Cancellara, multiple winner of Paris-Roubaix, Tour of Flanders, two-time Olympic gold medallist, and four-time world champion, is also excited to have Hirschi on the team.
“Signing Marc feels like the next piece of the puzzle of our story. We have been supporting him for some time, we know him well, and understand his needs. He is the right fit for the team and the values we stand for. We are convinced we can help him achieve the highest level,” Spartacus said.
Raphael Meyer, CEO of the team, said that the addition of both riders is part of Tudor’s evolution in the pro ranks.
“We are excited to add Marc and Fabian to the team roster,” Meyer said. “Both bring massive experience and will help us perform better as a team. Marc will be a leader in one-day and one-week stage races, while Fabian will be another solid addition to the Classics team, which will always be an important part of our team. He will also be a role model and a mentor to the youngsters. He is a solid rider with potential to still develop. These two additions make us very proud.”
