More sponsors dropping more riders

Canadians dominate NW Cup season opener at Dry Hill

The sponsor mix ups continue with a whole host of riders announcing they’ll be leaving teams. The lead-up to 2025 has delivered a seemingly unprecedented wave of roster shakeups. From rising stars to seasoned champions, many riders are leaving behind familiar jerseys and taking bold steps toward new opportunities—or facing uncertain futures. Here’s a look at some of the names bidding farewell to their teams and what’s next for them in this evolving landscape.

Erice Van Leuven

After an amazing season racing junior DH, it’s tough to imagine why a team would drop someone like Van Leuven, but here we are. The overall world cup winner will no doubt be snatched up quickly.

“Commencal bikes it’s been one hell of a ride.
After my little pink 16” coaster bike, every bike I’ve had since has been a Commencal. 8 years of your support has taken me all over the world.

From flying all the way to Andorra when I was 12 for the release of the first Commencal kids full suspension, freeriding in Canada and jetting across Europe, to of course the last two years on board with Commencal Les Orres as a World Cup racer – having Cedric Ravanel by my side, Cécile Ravanel as my coach, and of course my team mates and our awesome mechanics, it’s been fab. Cedric Martin I can’t thank you enough for your calm and dependable presence at the races.

A special shout out to Max Commencal for believing in me – I will always be grateful.

Life behind bars with you all has been a blast.
It’s time now for me to move on to the next chapter.
I look forward to seeing you at the races.”

Ollie Davis

After a season filling the shoes of injured Jackson Gladstone, Ollie Davis is being dropped by the Santa Cruz Syndicate.

“It’s that time of year where change starts to creep in.

Ollie Davis

You’ve been an asset for the team this season, bringing so much energy and positivity to the pits. The pressure was massive—making the leap from The Union to The Syndicate—but you dug deep and gave it everything you had.

It’s been a real pleasure having you with us this year, and we can’t thank you enough for the graft, the belly laughs and the general good times. It has been great to watch you grow as a rider and a coffee artist. We aren’t sure what we are more proud of tbh.

We are excited for your next move. Big love.”
