Prince Archie got the best present for his 4th birthday

On his fourth birthday, Prince Archie got the best present any youngster can get:  a bicycle, personally delivered by the local shop owner.

As the world awaited the coronation of King Charles on the morning of May 6, the owner of Mad Dogs & Englishmen Bike Shop  in Montecito, Calif. had another royal in mind—Prince Archie. Jennifer Blevins, the owner of the shop, spoke to People Magazine about their idea.  They wanted to give a unique birthday surprise to Archie, the son of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. She said her partner, Martin, shop co-owner, then sprang into action.

Bikes and balloons for Prince Archie’s big day

“He went and he got one of our little specialized kids’ bikes—they’re really nice little bikes—and he’s like, ‘This one’s perfect, it’s got training wheels,’” Blevins said to People magazine. “And so he went and got some birthday balloons, and he got some flowers for Meghan and a birthday card.  He said, ‘Okay, I’m gonna bike over and take it to their house.’”

Upon Martin’s arrival, Blevins said that security personnel emerged from beyond the gates of the residence. They asked whether Martin had been granted an invitation from the royal family.

“He said, ‘I’m just a British business in town that wanted to give Archie a gift,’” Blevins added.

After a security check and inspection of the bike, the gift was left and off he went. A month later, they received a note. The entire staff at the shop was shocked.

Surprise from Prince Harry and Meghan

“A courier came by our little shop on Coast Village Road and he dropped off that letter,” it was a thank you note sent from Meghan and Harry, she said.

The note was posted on the shop’s Instagram.

“It read: “On behalf of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, please accept their sincere thanks for the thoughtful gift you sent to Prince Archie for his fourth birthday. The bike has brought much joy, and is most appreciated by the family. They asked that I convey their gratitude at the lovely surprise.”
