‘Shaun of the Dead’ star on cycling: ‘My anus is battered’

We all love cycling, but yes, it can take a while to get used to sitting in the saddle for a few hours.

Nick Frost is a British actor, comedian, and writer renowned for his collaborations with Simon Pegg in the acclaimed “Cornetto Trilogy” films, including Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World’s End. His career began in television with a notable role in the sitcom Spaced, which was also co-created by Pegg. Frost’s comedic talent and versatility have since led him to a range of roles in both film and TV, such as in Paul and The Boat That Rocked. Beyond comedy, he’s shown his dramatic chops in series like Into the Badlands and The Big Narstie Show. His work is marked by a distinctive blend of humor and heart, making him a beloved figure in British entertainment.

Recovering from knee surgery

More importantly, the 52-year-old has recently taken up cycling. He started riding to recover from recent knee surgery. Cycling is good for recovering from knee surgery. It provides low-impact exercise that helps rebuild strength and flexibility in the knee while minimizing strain on the joint.

In fact, in his first ride, as he posted on Strava, he shared how much cycling was helpful. “I’m in agony but I’m so happy,” he posted. “I’ve suffered with arthritis for years and now that is gone! Can’t wait to start my recovery!”

On Tuesday, he posted his Strava ride on Instagram. “My anus is ABSOLUTELY BATTERED, my Chomie is ABSOLUTELY WRECKED!!!” (Chomie is Brit for buddy, so you can figure the rest out.)

Some choice words. Getting used to cycling can take some time, but we all know it’s totally worth it.

It’s a good reminder to pick the proper saddle, so your arse doesn’t turn into the walking dead.
