The Cycling Podcast / Questions for Fuglsang and the reinvention of a Spanish institution

In this week’s podcast Richard Moore and Daniel Friebe discuss all the latest racing and news and there’s an in-depth look at a team that’s been reinvented for 2020.

Apart from all the racing, Jakob Fuglsang, the Danish rider on Astana, has been subject to the allegation that he has been working with the banned doctor, Michele Ferrari. Any such association would constitute an anti-doping offence but media outlets in Denmark and Norway report that the authorities are investigating Fuglsang and his Astana teammate Alexey Lutsenko on the basis of tip-offs from whistleblowers.

Fuglsang, Lutsenko and Ferrari have all denied the allegations.

In the second part we turn our attention to Movistar, the Spanish team with 14 new riders, and a more international mix, in 2020. We hear from Eusebio Unzué, the man who’s been at the helm for its entire 40-year existence, from his son, Sebastián, and from one of the new signings, British rider Gabriel Cullaigh.
