On Tuesday, Tom Pidcock announced that he won’t be racing cyclocross this season.
He was inspired to make this known after watching the Namur World Cup races, the round he won last season. The Brit typed “On Sunday I watched my first cyclocross of the this season and it reminded me I should probably officially mention that this year, I will not race cyclocross. With a lot of change I want to make sure I have the time to settle into a new environment to get to know my new team and teammates well. But so far my plan will be to return to the field next year.”
Pidcock is on his way to Swiss ProTour road outfit Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team–home of Canadian Nick Zukowsky–after four years with Ineos Grenadiers. The 25 year old is the current Amstel Gold Race champion.
Last season Pidcock took on eight cross races, five of which were World Cup rounds. In 2022-2023 he competed in 14 races. On January 30, 2022, he won the world championship in Fayetteville, USA.
