The Tour de Gatineau has announced its routes for the upcoming event, taking place from September 20 to 22, 2024. The races, sanctioned by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), will feature some of the world’s top cyclists. For the first time since 2015, the event will be held in downtown Hull.
Race schedule
- Friday, Sept. 20: Individual Time Trial (ITT) featuring two 10 km laps. The race starts at 11 a.m. EDT and ends at 1 p.m., with podium presentations following. Team presentations will be at 6:00 p.m. EDT.
- Saturday, Sept. 21: Road Race with 12 laps of 10 km each, totaling 117.7 km. The race begins at 3 p.m. EDT and is expected to finish between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., with podium presentations afterward. The first 2.3 km will be neutralized.
- Sunday, Sept. 22: Criterium on a 1.2 km circuit starting at 10:30 a.m. EDT, with various categories including youth, masters, and elite riders. The Honor Tour is at 4 p.m., and the women’s professional race starts at 5:45 p.m. EDT.

The event is free for spectators, with a Fan Zone at Théâtre de l’Île parking lot, featuring live race broadcasts on a giant screen, local food and drinks, and a Fan Village. On Friday evening, local bands The Bluestone Collective and DORADO will perform.

Race route
The race starts and finishes at Montcalm Street and Wright Street, passing through Alexandre-Taché Boulevard, behind Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO), Gatineau Parkway, Lac des Fées Promenade, St-Joseph Boulevard, and the Rapibus corridor.
Special awards
A prize will be awarded to the top Canadian finisher in the road race. Additionally, there will be intermediate sprints with points for the best sprinter.
Former pro cyclist and national team rider Karol-Ann Canuel is the executive director and she is excited for the 2024 edition.
