The 54th Tour de l’Abitibi concluded Sunday with a win by French rider Ellande Larronde in the 7th and final stage which finished in Val d’Or, Que. Larronde, who held both the brown and orange jerseys throughout the competition, finished ahead of New Zealand’s Oliver Scott and Japan’s Keito Kamiya.
The race began with a breakaway by Quebec’s Gabriel Séguin. However, the dynamics shifted as the race entered the city. Larronde and Scott worked together in the final circuit to build a lead of over two minutes, with Larronde crossing the Agnico Eagle finish line first.
No changes occurred in the standings during this final stage. Larronde retained the brown and orange jerseys, Lohann Vulliez kept the polka dot jersey for best climber, and Ben Morin of PNW Racing took the blue jersey for best young rider.
