Two Canadians lead first-ever women’s Red Bull Rampage roster

Red Bull to finally include women at Rampage

After a years-long campaign for women’s freeride, Casey Brown will lead at the first-ever women’s Red Bull Rampage. Brown has pioneered the push of women’s freeride into the mainstream for years now. In Utah this October, when the women drop in at Rampage for the first time, she’ll be joined by seven other riders, all of whom have helped push women’s freeride into Rampage.

The first inclusion of women in the actual Rampage event follows a couple years of the non-competitive Formation event. Formation ran for two years, in 2021 and 2022. It was held separately from Rampage.

Casey Brown will be joined by Vaea Verbeeck, a former Queen of Crankworx, Canadian downhill national champion and, more recently, freerider. Verbeeck was part of Formation and will drop in for the first Rampage in October.

This October’s women’s Rampage will follow another big first for women at Red Bull events. Early in 2024, Gracey Hemstreet became the first woman to complete a full run at Red Bull Hardline when the event was held in Maydena, Aus. for the first time.
