Urška Žigart’s boyfriend heads to Slovenia in final race before Tour de France

Tadej Pogačar has been tweet-trolling Dan Martin for months and it’s the absolute best

After wrapping up his altitude training for the Tour de France, Tadej Pogačar is now making his way home to Slovenia to race in the national championships. This will mark his return to racing after a crash during the Liège-Bastogne-Liège, resulting in a fractured wrist. After that, Pog had to take some time off, before ultimately resuming training on his rollers. He only recently returned to riding outside and joined his teammates at training camp.

Belgian newspaper refers to Women’s WorldTour cyclist Urška Žigart as “Pogačar’s girlfriend”

The UAE Team Emirates rider is set to compete in the time trial on Thursday, followed by the road race on Sunday. The TT is just under 16 km, mostly uphill, heading to the village of Poklijuka. The road race is 156 km, on a hilly course in Rodovljca.

His sports manager Joxean Fernández Matxin said his progress is coming along, and his wrist injury is healing up just in time.

“He is going well. His condition is improving,” Matxin said to Bici.pro. “We did a training camp in Sierra Nevada in Spain, then we went over the stages in the third week of the Tour, and now, so as not to go back to Sierra Nevada, we came here. Next up he will do the two Sloveian national championships races, and then it’s straight to the Tour de France.”

The rivalry between Pog and last year’s winner Jonas Vingegaard is hotly anticipated, with the latter showing fine form recently winning the Critérium du Dauphiné.
