When Fox rolled out its new Float and Float SL shocks, the major suspension brand made a lot of big claims about how much a little shock could do. To show off the Float SL’s capabilities, Fox tapped Liv Factory Racer, and Canadian national champion Jenn Jackson.
Jackson puts the Float SL through the ringer on some seriously technical cross country terrain in her new home on Vancouver Island. Slabs, rolls, jumps, speed and even the occasional ladder bridge, it’s serious territory for a lightweight shock.

What’s Fox say about Jackson and the Float SL?
Super light. Ultra fast. XC race ready.
Join 2023 Canadian XCO National Champion Jenn Jackson from the Liv Factory Racing team as she puts the all-new FLOAT SL through its paces in her new backyard on Vancouver Island, all aboard the Liv Pique Advanced Pro 29. Built for superlight efficiency of XC riding with all-new compression and rebound valving for increased traction and ride feel unmatched in the ultralight shock category.
FLOAT SL inherits the internals of its FLOAT and FLOAT X siblings, streamlined to save every gram possible. A 2-position remote or 3-positon switch lets riders toggle between open, medium and firm mode settings for the most efficient power transfer from the pedals. Whether tackling World Cup XCO courses or full-day marathon races, FLOAT SL offers higher performance and a wider range of tuneability than previously seen in lightweight MTB shocks.
With a proven EVOL air spring and a form factor to fit a wider variety of XC and Trail bikes, FLOAT SL offers the ultimate suspension efficiency for riders pushing their potential. Race entry fees not included.
We have a new Fox Float of our own in for testing. Stay tuned for whether this new shock works as well for the rest of us as it does under the talented piloting of Jackson.
