The 2023 Milan-San Remo was the second fastest edition in its 116 years, but Wout van Aert doesn’t seem to care too much. The fastest ever was way back in 1990, when Italian Gianni Bugno averaged 45.806 km/h. That year, as per 2023, both featured strong tailwinds. But MvdP does now have the record of the fastest ascent up the Poggio.
