2026 Sea Otter Classic: Randoms and small parts

2026 Sea Otter Classic: Randoms and small parts

Sea Otter was busier than ever this year, with more booths, more people than in recent years and more wheel sizes than ever before. With so many big things going on, a few smaller releases slipped through our first couple of posts from Laguna Seca Speedway. Here’s our final run of gear from 2026 Sea Otter Classic.

Shimano Saint Flats explode

Shimano released new Saint and XT flat pedals just before Sea Otter. In the brand’s booth, there was an exploded-view diagram, but of the literal pedal. It was neat. The pedals look good.

Kids Ride Shotgun

Biking with your tiny human has never been easier. With the Shotgun Pro Evo, you can start your grom on the bike (with some assist) at just nine months old. Since the Shotgun Pro can morph into the Shotgun Pro (no bucket seat, a smaller handle, still no frame contact) it’s no surprise that Kids Ride Shotgun saw this early-years bike seat rocket to the top of its sales board. Awesome that KS has the design to do so.

The brand also had its E36 fork for 32″ prototype up front in its booth. The inverted fork is still available “soon” but it is coming.

Tern’s Orox backcountry cookout

If you want to try bikepacking but are more into glamping than really roughing it, Tern has a solution. The e-cargo brand brought an Orox decked out for a backcountry cookout. Complete with a propane tank, fold-out BBQ and full prep table, this is the luxury version of bikepacking. Wild times.

Rux diversifies

Squamish, B.C.-based Rux grew out of Kickstarter with the original, semi-rigid but foldable waterproof design. Now, its adding a variety of new packs to the line, for travel and for everyday life. That includes a cooler, a tote that takes design notes from an oversized drybag, smaller storage boxes, and a new lightweight, very foldable “duffel box.” Very modular, zero zippers, can be carried…
