Noah Ramsay returns to racing after injury

Noah Ramsay returns to racing after injury

You can plan your season as best as you can as a pro cyclist, but things always get in the way. Injuries or illness are part of the game, which means you’re constantly forced to adjust. We’ve seen it a lot this spring in both the men’s and women’s pro peloton. Toronto’s Noah Ramsay, who races for the Alpecin-Premier Tech Conti squad, is one of those.

The multidisciplined rider, who earned a spot on Mathieu van der Poel’s squad after an impressive ride at the Zwift Academy, went down during Stage 2 of the Étoile de Bessèges in February.

Recovery after the crash

After his crash, his team posted the news.

“Following his recent incident on Wednesday, Noah Ramsay sustained a fracture to his left elbow, for which surgery was successfully performed. His recovery process will now begin, with rehabilitation starting shortly,” the statement read. “We wish our Zwift Academy winner a smooth and speedy recovery and will continue to support him throughout his rehabilitation.”

This is Ramsay’s second year with Alpecin-Premier Tech’s Continental squad, but he’s been called up several times to the WorldTour team this season. Like a minor leaguer getting games in the majors, conti riders can step up for races with the WorldTour team. However, they can only do certain races. Riders on the Conti teams can do any *.Pro and *.1 races with the WorldTour team.

A solid 2025

And Ramsay has done just that. In 2025, he had a solid showing when he raced up. He was fifth at the Gran Premio New York City. He was also a very respectable 16th on the GC at the Région Pays de la Loire Tour. Kévin Vauquelin (INEOS Grenadiers) won that.

He also just missed the podium at Stage 1 of the Kreiz Breizh.

After a stretch away from races, he will be back in action on Sunday for the 8-day Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkiye. Once again, he’ll be joining the WorldTour team, led by Simon Dehairs. The Belgian snagged a stage in Turkey last year.
