BC Bike Race starts this week, but 2027 registration is already open

BC Bike Race starts this week, but 2027 registration is already open

With the BC Bike Race starting in a couple days, there are still a couple spots left if you want to register. It’s happening from May 23-29, so if you still want to do it, better sign up quick and get training! After 20 years, this is the final seven day stage race. For 2027 the race is only running for five days. If you can’t make this year work, you’ll need to consider racing in 2027 instead. And luckily registration for the 2027 event has just opened.

In 2027 the race will return to Squamish and Vancouver with a new format; five days. There’s also a new Enduro option. The advantage of signing up now is early bird pricing and enough time to train for the event itself.  If you sign up now, it’ll only cost you $1,799.

The deets

In 2027 the BC Bike Race BC Bike Race runs from Monday May 24 to Friday May 28. Rider check in begins on the 23rd. The race finishes where the annual BC Bike Fest begins; May 28-30 in North Cowichan, Vancouver Island.

Two formats

2027 will feature two formats. The classic course is just like the 20 years of the BC Bike Race; a classic stage race for solo or teams of two.  There are 450 spots available, and you’ll ride 25-45 km per day.

The new option  for 2027 is the Enduro Course. This is an enduro race that will happen alongside the classic stage race. There will be multiple times stages throughout the course. It’s limited to 150 riders, will feature 25-45 km of riding per day and will have 3-5 timed stages per day. It’s for solo riders only.

The route

The 2027 race opens in Squamish. After two mainland stages through, racers will take the ferry to Vancouver Island.  Once on the island, the race heads to Cumberland. From there, riders will finish the race in North Cowichan, where BC Bike Fest kicks off for a full weekend of racing and riding culture.

Further route details will be announced this summer.

But how much?

A potentially life-changing week of riding isn’t cheap. But if you speak with anyone that’s don’t eh BCBR they’ll tell you it’s a worthwhile investment. Here’s the current breakdown:
• Super Early Bird: $1,799 / 75 spots — open now
• Early Bird: $1,999 / 100 spots
• Regular: $2,199 / 375 spots
