Canadian Junior DH champ Geza Rodgers

Hailing from Port Moody, British Columbia, Geza’s journey in cycling started young and has taken her across disciplines, borders and podiums. At just 18-years-old, she’s already a seasoned racer with an impressive list of accomplishments.

A lifelong rider

“I’ve been riding my entire life,” says Geza. “I started racing at five-years-old and I’ve been competing at a high-performance level since I was 12.” Geza’s approach to cycling reflects her belief in trying everything the sport has to offer. She’s raced BMX, cyclocross, road, track, XC, enduro and downhill—and excelled in all of them.

From a national team sprint title in track cycling to representing Team BC at the Canada summer games and competing at the 2022 cyclocross world championships, Geza’s versatility is unmatched. More recently, she’s focused on enduro and downhill. The results speak for themselves:
•2022 Canadian U21 enduro national champion
•2023 DH nationals winner
• 6th place finish at an enduro world cup in Poland
•Qualifying for the 2024 DH world championships with just six days on a DH bike.

A season of surprises and growth

The 2023 season was pivotal for Geza. It marked her first full year focusing on enduro, where she aimed for top-10 finishes in the EDR world cups. She exceeded expectations with a sixth place finis in Poland and strong results in Italy and Austria.

Her foray into downhill racing has been equally successful, with wins at the Garbanzo DH at Crankworx and DH nationals and a solid performance at worlds in Andorra. Reflecting on the year, Geza attributes her success to a mindset of openness and joy. “For each race, I focused on going in with an open mind, having fun, learning and gaining experience. That mindset helped me a lot.”

A family affair

Geza’s story is one of hard work, but also deep gratitude. “The biggest contribution to my success is my parents,” she says. “They’ve supported me at every race, traveled with me and made my entire career as a cyclist possible. I owe it all to them.”

Her team at AGR Racing and training group at Blueprint Athlete Development have also been crucial. “Having a supportive, fun and like-minded group of people around makes all the difference in motivation,” she adds.

Balancing life on and off the bike
