David Godziek claims Crankworx Triple Crown at Red Bull Joyride

David Godziek drops in at Red Bull Joyride 2024

David Godziek wrote himself into the history books n Saturday, becoming just the third rider to win Crankworx’ Triple Crown of Slopestyle. The $25,000 prize is awarded to anyone who can win three Crankworx Slopestyle events in one year.

The first-ever winner was Nicolai Rogatkin in 2018. Emil Johansson’s era of dominance saw the Swede take the crown next.

Now, with his first Red Bull Joyride win, Godziek joins that elite roster of riders. The Polish rider landed his first Joyride win in a dramatic fashion befitting the occasion, too. After first runs, French rider Timothé Bringer had a solid lead over the rest of the field. Godziek’s near-perfect first run came to a crashing halt on the final jump. That put all the pressure on the Polish rider to perform on his second run.

Rising to the occasion, Godziek looked flawless from start hut to finish line on run two. Bringer attempted to respond but crashed on a smaller technical move on the large on-off wood feature. With that crash, Godziek clinched the win.

Bringer’s first run was still enough for second place. Max Fredriksson takes third just 0.4 points ahead of Erik Fedko.

Emil Johansson crashed during morning practice on Saturday and was unable to start Saturday’s Red Bull Joyride.
