Eight last team moves to close out 2026

This is it. We made it. The last day of 2025. That means it is the last day for athletes to get out those “thank you” messages to their old teams before contracts expire and it’s on to new squads. Here are another eight team moves from this last of minutes of the 2025 season.

Dakotah Norton leaves MS Mondraker

U.S.A.’s Dokotah Norton leaves MS Mondraker after two seasons of highs and lows. The first season saw Norton repeatedly challenge for World Cup wins, and attract all kinds of attention for his ultra-high rise handlebars. A broken pelvis in the off-season left Norton fighting to get back to the races. He not only did that, but finished fourth at the season-ender at Mont-Sainte-Anne.

“This “comeback” was what I would consider my greatest accomplishment,” Norton said in his announcement. “I went from three months non weight bearing to .3 off the podium at MSA in less than a year. Personally I’m pretty proud of that.”

Getting ahead of the team announcement rush that will start tomorrow, Specialized made sure everyone was listening when they announced Swenson’s signing. The UCI XCM world champion was heavily rumoured to be switching from Santa Cruz to Specialized, even before the former’s htSQD gravel team disbanded. Now it’s official.

He’ll also be joined by Geerike Schreurs. She makes a lateral move from SD Worx Protime road squad, who also ride Specialized, to fully commit to the gravel life with the Off-Road team. That’s five of the six Specialized Off-Road team announced, with one to go.

Jess Blewitt leaves Cube Factory Racing

After two years with the squad, the multi-talented Red Bull-sponsored Kiwi moves on to greener pastures. She’s already got an invite to Red Bull Hardline Tasmania, along with her World Cup calendar. It’d be wild if one of the top women’s freerider / racers didn’t earn a spot next season, so we’ll likely see Blewitt back with another…
