The Traka 360 is over, and it’s surpassed even the Critérium du Dauphiné in terms of new bikes; I spotted eight brand new or prototype machines in the last few days, so stay tuned for a whopping tech gallery shortly. While those bikes are certainly worthy of the headlines, what I saw as the male riders trickled over the finish line is perhaps even more exciting – an absolutely astounding set of unreleased Enve gravel wheels that make the hefty Zipp 303 XPLR NSW wheels looks svelte.
I didn’t catch the rider to ask about them, so all we have are a few shots I managed to fire off before he went to shower up and presumably hoover three or four pizzas in quick succession, but what I can say is they’re deeper than anything I’ve seen actually ridden off-road before, and they appear to be super-wide too and, most unusually for Enve, they’re slightly wavy at the spoke bed too.
