The DH World Cup series lands in Loudenvielle-Peyragudes this weekend, and is the opening round of the 2026 Enduro World Cup season.
The downhill track itself is fast. Riders drop 540 vertical metres over just 2.4 kilometres of track. Meanwhile, the enduro racers will tackle five stages across nearly 50 kilometres of terrain. For Canadian fans, there are plenty of riders worth waking up early to watch.
Canadians to watch in Loudenvielle
Obviously the biggest Canadian story heading into the weekend is probably Jackson Goldstone. The reigning overall World Cup champion had an uncharacteristically rough opener in South Korea after finishing 26th. But Goldstone won at Loudenvielle last year.
Finn Iles is also one to watch.
On the women’s side, Gracey Hemstreet will be looking for redemption after South Korea didn’t quite go to plan. Hemstreet’s not used to seventh place finishes, so no doubt she’ll be hungry for a podium spot this round.
Of course, most people will be watching Asa Vermette. While he’s not a Canadian, the guy is impossible to ignore. Vermette swept qualifying and finals at the opening round and looks like a genuine threat to veterans like Loïc Bruni and Goldstone already.
In enduro, the Canadian men to watch are Lief Rodgers and Evan Wall. On the women’s side, world champion Elly Hoskin will be one to watch for sure.
When to watch
The race schedule runs from Saturday through Sunday with Enduro racing happening Saturday and downhill finals Sunday. There is still no way to watch the enduro race unfortunately. Best to keep tabs on it all through the UCI Instagram page, or rider’s Instagram, or the live timing results.
