After a sloppy opener in South Korea, the 2026 UCI Mountain Bike World Series makes its first European stop in Nové Město na Moravě.
The Czech Republic is the second stop of the World Cup season. It’s the first European round of the year. Unlike the opening weekend at Mona Yongpyong, there’s no downhill racing in Nové Město. This weekend belongs to the lycra crowd, with XCC and XCO racing.
Known for its packed grandstands, Nové Město first appeared on the calendar in 2011. The big news this year is that crossover riders Tom Pidcock and Puck Pieterse are on the start list. Pieterse actually won this race last year. Mathieu Van Der Poel is also on the start list, but the UCI just confirmed he’s not actually racing this weekend.
For Canadian fans, there are a bunch of riders to watch. A short list includes Jenn Jackson, Emilly Johnston, Carter Woods, Tyler Orschel, Ella MacPhee, Marin Lowe, Cole Punchard, Gunnar Holmgren and Ava Holmgren are a few of the Canadians.
When to watch: Another time zone headache
Racing in Nové Město runs from Friday, May 29 through Sunday, May 31. The Czech Republic sits six hours ahead of Eastern Time. It’s nine hours ahead of Pacific Time, making for much more reasonable viewing than the South Korea opener. Though Canadian fans will still need to keep an eye on the calendar conversions.

How to watch the 2026 UCI World Cup in Nové Město
In Canada, the Elite XCC and XCO races should stream live on FloBikes.com. If you’re watching from elsewhere in the world (or are rocking a VPN), the UCI World Series page has a full list of regional broadcasters. If you’re interested in the U23 races, it’s worth checking Flo and the World Series YouTube channel. Sometimes they do a live stream of the U23 races.
