Langford Bikefest and Island Cup join together for UCI C1 race weekend

Victoria is finally getting its Canada Cup XC weekend back, but with a twist. The Langford Bikefest weekend is bringing UCI racing – including a crucial early season C1-ranked XCO – together with grassroots racing of the Island Cup.

It’s a novel approach to mixing performance and grassroots racing and its cool to see Island Cup and Canada Cup trying something new.

Three days in March

Racing at Langford Bikefest will stretch over three days in March. 94Forward Pacific XC Canada Cup racing starts with Island Cup taking over for the weekend on the final day. The Bici/Broad Street Cycles GP will be the first event of the 2026 Island Cup series.

On Friday, March 13 a Canada Cup XCC kicks events off. That’s followed on Saturday March 14 by the Canada Cup XCO, a UCI C1 event. That will provide a great opportunity for Canadian racers to earn UCI points without having to leave the country.

Finally, on Sunday, the Island Cup brings grassroots racing to Langford Bikefest, giving amateur, younger (and older) and more casual racers the chance to line up on the same course as Canada’s best.

A nationals preview

For all riders, the Langford Bikefest will serve as an opportunity to get to know the venue for 2026 Canadian XCO national championships. Cross country nationals return to Langford for a second year on July 16-19, 2026.

All three days of racing will take place at the Jordie Lunn Bike Park.

Registration for 2026 Langford Bikefest events is open now.

“Our strategy is to build a generation of Canadian talent in mountain biking, which for us includes cross country and gravity. We have mountain bike athletes from across Canada descending on the region for months prior to this event and after. They are all looking to take advantage of the climate and world class facilities only available here. As an original investor in the Jordie Lunn bike park this event is a fitting evolution of our commitment to this sport. We look forward to all the athletes, coaches and parents coming to the region and Langford. On behalf of our Board and Chair Kelly Mann, I would like to thank the City of Langford and Westhills for joining us in providing this opportunity,” says… 94Forward.
