Loris Vergier finally finds a team

In the aftermath of losing his ride on Trek Factory Racing in late 2024, Vergier’s future was unknown. Today the mystery is over; he’ll be riding for Commencal Muc-Off.

From junior champ to downhill icon

Loris Vergier has been around for a long time. He first made waves as a junior in 2014 when he won both the junior world cup overall and the junior world championships. It was clear he was a future star in the making.

After dominating the junior ranks, he moved up to the elite category in 2015, where he made an instant impact by finishing third at the UCI world cup round in Windham, U.S. By 2016, Loris showed his potential with a season-best second-place finish in Leogang, ultimately finishing seventh overall in the world cup standings.

In 2017, Loris made a major career move by joining the Santa Cruz Syndicate, teaming up with legends like Greg Minnaar and Luca Shaw. The switch came after Steve Peat retired and Josh Bryceland stepped back from world cup racing. Riding for the Syndicate, Loris honed his skills, gained invaluable experience and delivered consistently strong results.

In 2021, he joined Trek Factory Racing. With each season, he continued to prove he’s one of the fastest and most stylish riders on the circuit. His 2024 season saw him win the world championships in Pal Arinsal. He achieved a tenth position overall on the world cup standings.

Welcome to Commencal

“It had been a long time coming. Loris is cool, looks great on a bike, fast, consistent! Plus, like us, he lives in Andorra. ‘So, Loris? Are you in?’ I asked. And he said, ‘Ouiii!’ Alongside Amaury, Pompon, and the whole team, I’m convinced we’re going to do some amazing work. It’s awesome.” – Max Commencal

“COMMENCAL MUC-OFF was the best team I could possibly join. There’s no better fit for me. The bike is unreal, the team is unreal. After a long time in the making, it just all came together this year. I’m so stoked!” – Loris Vergier
