After two days for the sprinters, the time trialists and GC contenders will finally get a chance to shine on day three’s individual time trial. The course is a simple out-and-back with just one U-turn to slow the riders down. Add to that a perfectly flat and exquisitely tarmacked road and you have one of the fastest courses imaginable. Expect the ITT specialists to be running dinner plate-sized chainrings on this stage as they attempt to get close to the nine-minute barrier.
