If you are a longtime cycling fan, you may do a double take when you see riders from Polti VisitMalta at Milano-Sanremo on Saturday.
The squad is rolling out in a throwback kit dubbed the “Maglia Iconica,” a modern remake of the bright yellow-and-green design worn by the original Team Polti in the 1990s. Same look, updated materials, and a clear nod to a past.
Even the team’s Aurum bikes have been repainted to match.

This isn’t the first time a team has used a throwback kit. Back in 2021, to honour French cycling legend (and Mathieu van der Poel’s grandfather) Raymond Poulidor, Alpecin-Fenix (now Alpecin-Premier Tech) created a limited edition throwback kit. Celebrating van der Poel’s first Tour de France, the bright purple and yellow vintage-stylea kit was paired with crisp white gloves and hats. The jersey was to pay tribute PouPou’s Mercier squad.
