The penultimate stage will see the riders tackle the hardest climb of the race, the Alto de el Purche (6.2km at 7.5%). Those who do manage to cling onto the coattails of the peloton will then be in with a chance of contesting for the stage win on a tricky, downhill finish. On paper, the finale suits the fastmen, but don’t rule out a late attack. Fortune will favour the brave in Baza.
