Tadej Pogačar has a new Colnago for 2025…which means he may be going even faster, somehow.
His new ride, the Colnago Y1Rs, was designed to help the very fast rider, go even faster. According to the Italian bike brand, the frame design process involved advanced 3D printing for quick prototyping and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling, refined through real-world testing. This method reduced the average error rate in aerodynamic predictions, dropping it from 30 per cent to 15 per cent.
An incredible year
Pogačar had a remarkable 2024, securing 25 wins, including a Giro d’Italia-Tour de France double, a world championship title, and victories in several one-day races. Some of those wins were particularly memorable, like his road world championship, where he broke away and bridged to the leading group with 100km remaining, eventually soloing the final 50 km.
Panic currently spreading through the peloton 😂

The Slovenian is the first male rider to win cycling’s Triple Crown–a Giro, Tour, and world championship win, since Stephen Roche in 1987. Before that, Eddy Merckx achieved the feat in 1974.

Pogi’s season has been called by many to be one of the greatest in cycling’s history. But if anyone can top it in 2025, surely it’s the 26-year-old pro.
Aero FTW
His new bike is designed to be more aerodynamic than its predecessor, the V4Rs, and, according to Colnago, it performs better in wind tunnel tests compared to other World Tour bikes, especially in crosswind conditions.
Colnago states the Y1Rs requires 20 watts less power to maintain 50 km/h, with 19 per cent less drag compared to the V4Rs. With a balance of stiffness and weight, the Y1Rs is suitable for sprinting and breakaway efforts.
The Y1Rs has a 3.5 per cent increase in sprint stiffness over the V4Rs and weighs 965 g unpainted, with a full build (size M, UAE Team Emirates spec) at 7.51 kg, according to the company.
Pogi will ride a rainbow jersey version of the bike, while the rest of his team will use the standard Team UAE Emirates paint job.
