Terrebonne, Que.'s towering Olivier Rioux is taking the NCAA by storm ...on a 36'er

Olivier Rioux is the talk of this year’s NCAA Final Four tournament. While his Florida team may already be knocked out, people can’t stop talking about the towering Canadian. For obvious reasons.

That’s because, at 7’9″ Rioux is the tallest player in the NCAA. He makes the rest of the tournament players, with their mere mid-six-foot heights, look like children.

That towering height comes with an interesting transportation option. With so few cars made to suit the Terrebonne, Que. baller’s height, he’s turned to bikes.

Appearing with TikTok basketball player Tyler Bergantino recently, the Terrebonne Tower joked that he doesn’t really fit in cars. Instead, he rides his bike around the Florida State University campus.

The rise of the big wheel: Introducing the 32er and the 36er

That part is not a joke. Rioux then showed Bergantino, who for reference is 6″9 and looks normal next to the Canadian, his ride. What kind of bike does a 7″9′ human ride?

Rioux then revealed his 36er. That’s right, the man too big for cars rides a bike with 36″ wheels. The 36er is from DirtySixer. The brand is one of very few, if not the only brand outside the custom market, making bikes with 36″ wheels. The extra tall baller looks makes even those massive wheels look tiny.

Looking at Rioux on the DirtySixer, it’s easy to understand why the big-wheel specialists are a favourite among ballers. One of DirtySixer’s first clients was none other than Shaq. He’s also sold bikes to NBA Hall of Famer Mark Eaton as well as Rudy Gobert and Dirk Nowitzki.
