Tour Down Under: Hat trick for Sam Welsford on stage 4


Sam Welsford (BORA-hansgrohe) celebrated his birthday in style by sprinting to a hat trick at the Tour Down Under. The Australian sprinter, who turned 28 today, lost the wheel of his lead-out train on the final hectic dash to the line but was still able to come to claim the win in Port Elliott.

Biniam Girmay (Intermarché-Wanty) takes seconds and Lars Boven (Alpecin-Deceuninck) was third.
