UAE Tour Stage 6 preview: The queen stage awaits

Stage 6 of the 2026 UAE Tour brings the peloton to the brutal Jebel Hafeet. It’s the only climb of the day, but there will be fireworks.

Antonio Tiberi looks to continue his strong form, but Isaac del Toro could very well launch on the climb early and take the stage–and overall.

Remco Evenepoel, recovering from a tough day on Jebel Mobrah, may want to redeem himself with a stage win–if he can handle the heat this time. Then there’s national champion Derek Gee-West, who, despite not racing for eight months, has had a fine debut with his new Lidl-Trek team. A solid TT, a good day on Stage 4 has him sitting in seventh. Maybe he will go for a summit win? Since he is a minute and change behind, the podium placed GC riders may give him a bit of room.

Stage 6 starts by weaving through Al Ain, passing landmarks like UAE University, Al Qattara, and Al Hili, before heading west through the desert and looping back to Green Mubazzarah. From there, the 10 km climb of Jebel Hafeet begins.

The climb features wide hairpins along a three-lane road, with gradients mostly between 8–9 per cent. It peaks at 11 per cent with 3 km to go. Riders get a short rest with a quick descent before the red kite shows up. Then, a little ramp to the finish.
