Unreal Bike Park sets sights on world’s largest indoor facility

Unreal Bike Park sets sights on world’s largest indoor facility

A massive year-round riding facility is coming to southeast Calgary, and founder Jerrod Hoskins and co-founder Goe Novello are not thinking small.

Their vision for Unreal Bike Park is bold: build the largest year-round indoor bike park in the world, designed to serve everyone from first-time riders to elite level athletes. Unreal is creating a purpose-built facility designed around riding from the ground up, rather than trying to force bike features into a conventional industrial shell.

“Usually, the park has to accommodate the building,” Hoskins said. “We’re doing it the other way around. The building is accommodating the park.”

The scale is significant. The planned building is almost 200,000 square feet. About 155,000 square feet of that will be the park, with another 45,000 outdoors. Jump lines, pump tracks and training zones are all planned.  The custom-built structure will have ceilings reaching nearly 45 feet high.

Built for Calgary, attracting the world

Hoskins, who also runs a construction company, says the project is moving quickly. Permits are approved. Construction is moving forward.

“I’ve got 1.5 million pounds of steel currently in production,” he said. “By the end of August, I should have a full tangible structure.”

They hope to host a soft opening in late 2026 with a public launch in early 2027.

Unreal is already engaging the riding community. Its website is live, with founding memberships available and a Buy a Brick campaign offering supporters a way to help build the facility while becoming part of it.

Location is part of the strategy. Unreal is about 20 minutes from the Calgary International Airport, positioning it as both a local hub and a destination facility.

“It’ll be one of the world’s largest indoor bike parks,” Hoskins said. “That’s a great accolade for Canada.”

More than ramps and jumps

Hoskins is clear that Unreal is not just another warehouse with wood features.

“That doesn’t work,” he said.

The complex is a multi-use facility. The main floor will feature riding zones. A second-floor mezzanine will feature climbing, fitness and recovery, yoga, martial arts, retail, golf simulators and three food and beverage concepts.

That mix will expand the audience beyond riders and help stabilize the business year-round.

“We aren’t looking to just survive, we’re looking to thrive,” Hoskins said.
