Watch Tadej Pogačar sass Wout van Aert hard after Stage 2 of the Tour de France

You can’t win ’em all, they say, which is what Wout van Aert learned the hard way during Stage 2 of the Tour de France. Victor Lafay from Cofidis snuck away from the lead group in the finale, spoiling what could have been a win for the Belgian. On the final climb, the Jaizkibel, it seemed like Pog and Jonas Vingegaard might stay clear after a big attack, but with the Dane refusing to work on the descent, the escape was caught.

Tadej Pogačar has been tweet-trolling Dan Martin for months and it’s the absolute best

Jumbo-Visma caught a last-minute attack from Pello Bilbao, followed by a counter by Ineos-Grenadiers’s Tom Pidcock, but it was all together with 1 km to go.

Lefay launched out from the group on the left hand side. Van Aert tried to reel him back but it was too late. Pogačar took a few more bonus seconds, slotting in third place. At the finish, a visibly frustrated van Aert threw his arm down having lost a chance for a win.

After the race, when Pog was cooling down, race leader Adam Yates rode by. The Slovenian did a hilarious impression of the Jumbo-Visma, throwing his arm down, and telling Yates that WvA was “like a child.”
