La Vuelta Femenina: Paula Blasi seizes overall victory with final day turnaround on Alto de L’Angliru as Petra Stiasny solos to stage win

Paula Blasi (UAE Team ADQ) celebrated overall victory at La Vuelta Femenina after dropping race leader Anna van der Breggen (SD Worx-Protime) on the fearsome Alto de L’Angliru, the closing climb of the race.

Petra Stiasny (Human Powered Health) scored a solo stage win after going clear in the final kilometres of the climb, but Blasi, second-place on stage, took the overall win after turning an 18-second deficit into a 24-second advantage over Van der Breggen at the finish line.
